Returning & Exchanging Online Orders

Return or exchange online orders by mail or at a store! Canadian customers can start your online return or exchange here. To locate your order number, simply review your order history. A $5.95 fee will be deducted from your refund for most mailed returns. If you prefer to return your item(s) at a store, you can find the nearest store location here.

For customers from all other countries, we recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method of your choice. See below for full details and instructions.

Returning In-Store Purchases

In-store purchases may be returned to any store location. Locate a store near you to confirm business hours. Please note: Merchandise purchased at our stores cannot be returned via mail or to our warehouse.

Please note that items returned to a Canada store are ineligible for a refund of duty or taxes from your local customs office if import fees were due upon delivery. Please refer to the Duty Refunds section below for more information.

All product-related issues, such as missing or damaged items/packages, must be reported within 30 days of the shipping date.

  • Returns or exchanges must be accompanied by an original sales receipt or AnthroPerks lookup.
  • We'll gladly accept unworn, unwashed, and unaltered merchandise for return or exchange within one year of purchase or delivery date of shipped items. All tags must be attached, and items must be returned in original packaging. Defective items may still be accepted.
  • For merchandise returned within 30 days of the purchase date, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment at the original selling price. If returned after 30 days, a merchandise credit will be issued at the original selling price. After one year, we will no longer accept returns or exchanges. For online orders, the window for returns and exchanges will be determined by the delivery date of the shipped items.
  • A one-time price adjustment will be granted on full-price purchases only if an original sales receipt is presented within 14 days of purchase.
  • All items can be returned to store with the exception of Unlimited Furniture Delivery items and wedding gowns and bridal sets unless they were originally purchased at a store location. Please see below for more information on these exception policies.
  • Items purchased online or in-store cannot be returned to the Anthropologie Home Outlet or Anthropologie pop-up locations.

Final Sale

  • All sale items ending in $.95 that are purchased at an additional sale-on-sale discount and marked "Final Sale," cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Purchases of packaged food, menstrual cups, personal devices from our sexual wellness assortment, live plants, and made-to-order wedding gowns and bridal sets cannot be returned or exchanged.

To return merchandise purchased by phone or on anthropologie.com, please use one of the following methods.

Anthropologie is not responsible for non-Anthropologie items shipped back to us in error, shipping fees or lost returns.

To make a return by mail:

Canadian customers can start an online return here. To locate your order number, simply review your order history. A $5.95 fee will be deducted from your refund for most mailed returns. For a faster refund, your return label and return slip should correspond with the items in your package. Please process and mail multiple returns individually.

For customers from all other countries, we recommend that you use your own trackable and insured shipping method. For all non-gown returns, please mail your return to the following address. Be sure to obtain a tracking number and a receipt from the carrier for your records.

Exchanges

Merchandise exchanges can be made using any of the following methods. Please review the information below to determine which exchange method will work best for you.

Exchange by mail:

Canadian customers can start your online exchange here. To locate your order number, simply review your order history.

For customers from all other countries, please follow the return instructions above and re-purchase the desired item(s), using your own trackable and insured shipping method. Please note that the shipping charges outlined in the shipping information section for your country will be applied to items in your new order. For additional help with replacing your order, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Exchange in a store:
Exchanges are complimentary at all US and Canada stores. Merchandise purchased on anthropologie.com cannot be returned to stores outside of the US and Canada.

Exchanges made in a different currency from which the original item was purchased will be processed as returns, and you will be asked to complete a separate transaction in the new currency.

Refund Process

Most returns will process in approximately 2–3 weeks, depending on your method of return. Additional processing delays may occur. You will receive an email when your return has been processed (be sure to check your spam folder).

A refund will then be credited back to your original method of payment, and will post approximately 1-3 business days after the processing date. It may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly credit card statement.

All anthropologie.com orders will be refunded in the original currency and method of payment used at the time of purchase, and converted at the exchange rate selected by your issuing bank at the time of refund. In the absence of the original method of payment, a store credit will be issued in the currency in which the original purchase was made.

Refund Process

Most returns will be credited back to your original method of payment within approximately 1-3 business days. It may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly bank statement. Gift card purchases will be refunded in the form of merchandise credit.

Exchanges

Exchanges are complimentary at all US and Canada stores. Merchandise purchased on anthropologie.com cannot be returned to stores outside of the US and Canada.

  • We'll gladly accept unworn, unwashed, and unaltered eligible merchandise for return or exchange. Merchandise must be free of stains, pet hair, floor debris, and pin marks.
  • All original tags must be attached and items must be returned in original packaging.
  • They may not be returned to stores unless originally purchased at a store location. Please mail your return to the address listed here.
  • Made-to-order gowns are final sale and cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged.
  • Wedding gowns are subject to a $25 restocking fee if returned, plus applicable taxes. The fee will be deducted from the refund once the return is processed. For details about the restocking fee for a specific item, please visit the product page.

You can return online orders by mail or at a store, as long as they are accompanied by an original sales receipt or are eligible for AnthroPerks lookup.

The order number can be found on the shipping label on the outside of the packaging. If you're unable to locate this number, please contact us with the gift giver's name and/or email address and we'll be happy to help.

If you start a return online, make sure to select the e-merchandise credit option and enter the email address you wish for it to be sent to once the return has been received.

You may be eligible to receive a refund of duty and taxes from your local customs office if import fees were due upon delivery.

If import fees were owed upon delivery, and you returned:

  • By mail: Be sure to obtain proof of export from your postal carrier, as this will be required by your customs office. You will also receive an email confirmation when your return is received; be sure to keep this as proof of return.
  • To a US store location: Be sure to keep your return receipt. This will serve as proof of return and export, and will be required by your customs office.
  • After obtaining the required proof of return and export, contact your local customs office for information on obtaining a refund.
  • Canada customers may fill out this form to request a refund from the Canada Border Services Agency.

If import fees were prepaid during checkout:

  • Your refund for duties and taxes will be included in the total amount issued after your return is processed, whether returned by mail or in-store.
